...dedicated by Charles ...
Remember her now she has gone away,
Gone far away into the silent land;
When we can no more hold her by the hand,
Nor she half turn to go yet turning stay.
Remember her when no more day by day
We tell her of our future that we plann'd:
Only remember her; you understand
It will be late to counsel then or pray.
Yet if we should forget her for a while
And afterwards remember, do not grieve:
For if the darkness and corruption leave
A vestige of the thoughts that once she had,
Better by far we should forget and smile
Than that we should remember and be sad.But, best of all, remember and be glad.
